Wind energy  is a renewable energy source  obtained from wind’s kinetic energy that moves wind turbine blades starting the generator, thereby turning kinetic energy into electric energy.

The process starts when the wind turbine rotates on its tower in order to make the most of wind’s energy , according the data registered by the weather-vane and the anemometer. Then, wind makes rotor blades spin, causing the multiplier to elevate the spinning speed to thousands of revolutions per minute. The kinetic energy obtained is transferred to the generator to turn it into electrical energy, which is later carried from the tower to the base, then throughout the substation to elevate its voltage and, finally delivered to the electrical grid for its distribution.

For its characteristics, it is one of the world’s most used clean energies (together with solar energy). Enel Green Power  inaugurated Wayra Wind Farm , Peru’s largest wind farm, which is located in the district of Marcona, province of Nazca, region of Ica. You can find more information about this power plant here.
