  • The placement of political posters in electrical infrastructure is prohibited by law and represents a serious risk to people.

Lima, September 7th, 2022. As the municipal and regional elections approach in our country, Enel Distribución Perú calls on political parties and neighbors not to place posters, banners, advertisements, or any type of electoral propaganda on public lighting poles or in other electrical network infrastructure since manipulating them is dangerous and is a risk to health and life.

Enel Distribución Perú urges political organizations to respect the prohibitions established in the National Electricity Code, as well as in the various municipal ordinances, and thus avoid placing such signs on low, medium, and high voltage poles, since it represents a high risk for the life and integrity of people. It is essential to maintain electrical infrastructure in good condition to ensure the quality of the electricity service to the millions of homes within our concession area.

It should also be noted that Enel Distribución Perú forbids the placement of elements such as additional LED branches in public lighting fixtures. We alert neighbors not to fall for scams by people who attempt to charge them for these installations.

With this information, Enel Distribución Perú seeks to raise awareness among all members of political parties and neighbors, as well as guarantee the safety of users and safeguard the continuity of the electricity service and public lighting.
