We generate energy for all of Peru. Our main objective is to carry out activities typical of energy generation and commercialisation in the natural gas business. We are part of the Enel Group, a multinational energy company and a leading electricity and gas integrated operator, focused in particular on the European and Latin American markets.

The plant is located in the city of Talara, in northwest Peru, and the administrative offices in the city of Lima. Our operations are implemented within the concession area. In accordance with current legislation, we execute all civil, industrial, commercial and other acts and operations that are related or conducive to the main objective.

An important milestone for Enel Generación Piura was the Talara Cold Reserve project, which began commercial operations in the Peruvian Distribution Network (SEIN) on 13 July 2013 with a dual (biodiesel B5/natural gas) combustion turbine (TG5) of approximately 182 MW, operating in open cycle mode, with an efficiency of 36% and a real cost of 101 million US dollars. The TG-5 is a “cold reserve” unit and will operate whenever the Peruvian Committee for the Economic Operation of the Electric System (COES) requires, having periods of start—stop and generation at full and partial load.

We generate energy and progress for more Peruvians.
