  • To date, Enel has installed more than 40 charging stations nationwide, ranging from Tumbes to Puno.
  • This technology contributes to the decarbonization of the energy and transportation sectors.

Lima, August 2nd, 2022. Enel Perú is committed to electric mobility to improve productivity, reduce health costs, and care for the environment. For this reason, the company plans to add six new stations to its national charging network for electric vehicles in the coming months at the Fortaleza and Huarmey tolls in the Ancash region and at the Virú toll in the region of La Libertad.

As recalled, Enel has installed 48 electric charging stations in the country — 5 being for private use — located in 23 Peruvian cities: Puno, Ayaviri, Sicuani, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Limatambo, Abancay Andahuaylas, Ayacucho, Cosme, Huancayo , Tarma, Cerro de Pasco, Pisco, Lima, Barranca, Casma, Chimbote, Trujillo, Pacasmayo, Chiclayo, Piura, and Puntal Sal.

Enel has various types of chargers for electric vehicles available for residential, public, or corporate use. Likewise, the company is collaborating with public and private entities to coordinate the implementation of new charging stations.

An example of this is the latest fast charging station installed this year at the Kío Service Station, near the 25th kilometer of the South Pan-American Highway. This implementation was carried out within the framework of an agreement with Petroperú to install this type of chargers at service stations affiliated with the state company.

Savings and environmental care

An electric vehicle charged to 100% can ensure up to 300 km of autonomy. This is an environmentally friendly technology, since it reduces CO2 emissions and noise pollution, in addition to the fact that these vehicles represent savings in fuel costs close to 90% when compared to a gasoline car.
