  • The program will also provide legal management support for the communities so they can fulfill all the necessary requirements for the electrification of their area. These communities will also receive special pricing in basic electrical appliances, as well as walls and masts.
  • The program aims to provide electricity to 30,000 families per year through the 2022-2026 period.

Lima, November 30th, 2021. In order to increase the rate of electrification in the vulnerable areas within its concession area, Enel Perú presents the “Energía para Crecer” (Energy to Grow) project. This program aims to provide access to electricity to almost 18,000 families this year. Likewise, it seeks to benefit 30,000 families per year through the 2022-2026 period, doubling the rate of electrification in recent years.

“The objective of 'Energía para Crecer' is to bring power to more and more neighbors in our concession area, thus promoting the development of their communities,” said Marco Fragale, Country Manager of Enel Perú. In the last 15 years, the company has connected 265,000 families to the electrical grid within its concession area. Many of these areas are now consolidated urbanizations such as Pachacútec in Ventanilla, in which we can find medium-sized businesses, individual entrepreneurships, schools, among others, all of which grew and developed themselves since the arrival of electricity.

Energía para Crecer” also seeks to support its communities by managing the necessary requirements for their electrification and by contributing to their development with special pricing on basic electrical appliances sold by Enel X Perú.

Similarly, the program ensures that all neighbors have safe electrical connections with warranties, which is why walls and masts are offered to customers, both being essential infrastructures for electrification. “The installation of the wall and mast is part of the quality service offered by Enel X, as we seek to reduce redone work and thus reduce the cost overruns that customers may incur. With this service, we guarantee that the technical standards of the installation are met and, above all, we can guarantee the safety of the neighbors” added the executive.

Electricidad al Toque

Enel Perú's program also joins the government efforts to reduce the gap in electrical access between Peruvians. The “Electricidad al Toque” (Electricity right away) program is an example of this. Promoted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines through FISE (Social Energy Inclusion Fund), its objective is to reduce the gap in access to energy, subsidizing electrical connections for unaffiliated neighbors in vulnerable areas that are already electrified.
