Lima, November 25th, 2020. Enel Distribución Perú put into service the new 40MVA (megavolt ampere) 60/20 /10kV Power Transformer at the Puente Piedra Transmission Substation (SET) to improve the quality of electrical service in strategic locations in the concession area, especially in Northern Lima. In addition to the increase in power, the works included the installation of new Medium Voltage cells, following the commitments agreed with the regulating authority.

The investment in these works was around 7 million soles, and the works, which included civil and electromechanical engineering, were carried out over a year. "These works will allow us to improve the service we offer to our clients and meet the growing energy demand in Northern Lima, mainly in the districts of Carabayllo and Puente Piedra," said Javier Villavicencio Montenegro, Head of the High Voltage Construction Unit of Enel Distribución Perú.

This is one of the most important commissionings that the company had planned for this year. Its importance is greater due to the situation caused by COVID-19, which increased energy consumption as our clients stayed at home longer.
