Enel Perú joins the program “Adopta Una Olla” organized by the Municipality of Lima

• “Adopta una Olla” (“Adopt a pot” or, in context, “Sponsor a Common Kitchen”) is a program organized by the Municipality of Lima that seeks to mitigate the lack of access to food of the most vulnerable communities in the city amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Enel Perú is the first company to join this local initiative by delivering non-perishable food to 9 common kitchens in San Juan de Lurigancho, Comas, and Carabayllo.

Lima, September 22^nd, 2020. Enel Perú, under the framework of contributing to the well-being of the families most affected by COVID-19, joins the “Adopta una Olla” program organized by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, which seeks to mitigate the lack of access to food of the most vulnerable communities amidst the national state of emergency.

Enel Perú is the first company to join this initiative by donating non-perishable food valued at US$ 20,000 to the Lima Foundation. This covers the lunches of 9 common kitchens in the program, providing 1,700 servings for the month in the districts of San Juan de Lurigancho, Comas, and Carabayllo, all located in the concession area of Enel Distribución Perú. The weekly menu is prepared by a team of nutritionists and the areas of intervention were selected by the Municipality of Lima.

“We are aware of the difficulties that many families are experiencing due to the pandemic and, within this framework, we have decided to join the laudable initiative 'Adopta una Olla' organized by the Municipality of Lima. We believe that synergies between the public and private sectors are essential to overcome the emergency situation of the most vulnerable communities in the capital,” said Massimiliano Calamea, Sustainability Manager of Enel Perú.
