  • Three hundred nutritious lunches are donated daily to dozens of vulnerable families in Ventanilla.

Lima, June 12th, 2020.- Since the beginning of the state of emergency decreed by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, many families in our country have been affected by the lack of food. However, in Callao, the alliance between Enel Perú and Pachacútec Foundation has allowed the daily delivery of 300 nutritious lunches in Ventanilla, reaching 75 families in vulnerable situations.

The delivered menu is prepared by chef teachers and volunteer students from the Pachacútec Foundation, who donate their culinary talent for this cause every day. The delivery of the lunches is carried out door to door to each family's house, taking into account all the necessary biosecurity measures.

"Thanks to the alliance with Enel Perú we have been able to continue supporting the Pachacútec community by delivering non-perishable food baskets and preparing nutritious daily lunches, especially in this difficult period for many of the families in the district," says María Teresas Bomboi, Vice President of the Pachacútec Foundation.

As part of the nationwide actions the company has been carrying out to counter the effects of COVID-19 contagion, Enel Perú delivered 400 baskets of non-perishable products for families in Ventanilla. The Pachacútec Foundation also participated in this initiative through March, benefiting approximately 1,600 people.

This initiative in the Callao region adds to the deliveries already being made by the company nationwide. To date, 5,000 basic baskets of basic foodstuffs and water have been delivered to families in poverty, reaching 20,000 people in the country.
