Lima, February 26th, 2020.- Enel Perú reported that its corporate volunteering “Lideramos con el ejemplo” (We lead by example) benefited a total of 173 people in 2019, thanks to the commitment of over 100 company employees who participated in 5 different activities. The company announced that the second edition of the program, which is aligned with the group’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), would start this week.

The 2020 edition will be developed under the same paid workday premise, but incorporating new activities to increase the number of beneficiaries. Within this framework, Enel has formed alliances with new institutional partners and non-profit organizations, which will be an addition to those already subscribed to Asociación Aire (Air Association), Fundación Pachacútec (Pachacútec Foundation), Aldeas Infantiles (Children Villages), and Sembrando Cultura (Sowing Culture).

“The first edition had a great reception. In just four months, more than 10% of our employees actively participated in the program. We hope to double the number of participants and beneficiaries by 2020, thanks to new activities that will be developed not only in Lima, but also in the Near North Coast of Lima, Talara, Junín, Moquegua, and Nazca,” emphasized Massimiliano Calamea, Sustainability Manager of Enel Perú.

The new edition of “Lideramos con el ejemplo” begins this Friday 28 with “Salva Playas” (Beach Savior), an activity carried out with the Ministry of Environment to provide recommendations to bathers on the importance of keeping the beaches clean.
