Enel will upgrade the Lomera Substation to benefit 120,000 clients in Huaral

  • The company will invest over 10.5 million soles to improve service quality and increase the number of reached homes.

 

Lima, February 15th, 2019. – Enel Distribución Perú is running a project to upgrade the Lomera Electrical Transmission Substation in order to improve the quality of service for 120,000 clients in city of Huaral. This required an investment of over 10.5 million soles, which will also allow Enel to meet the increasing power demand of the Near North Coast of Lima.

The company stated that this project consists in the installation of a new three-phase transformer of 220/60/20 kV with 50MVA and 220kV hybrid equipment, as well as its connective cells. It is also worth mentioning that the electric substation belongs to the Conenhua Corporation, but Enel owns the grant for the transformer and its cells. Construction works are expected to conclude around mid-April of this year.

“One of our objectives as a team is to utilize the best technology at our reach to work in a safe and efficient manner. Upgrading to this new transformer and its related equipment are proof of this, and so far we are very satisfied with how this project has developed and we expect to replicate it in other substations”, pointed out Santos Amado, head of the High Tension Operative Unit of Enel Distribución Perú.
