Lima, January 15, 2018. Enel Distribución Perú has implemented a prevention plan to guarantee energy supply in the areas Pope Francis will visit from January 18 to 21 during his stay in Peru. The plan includes providing maintenance to electrical infrastructure and public lighting, increasing the number of emergency squads, among other actions.

“The plan involves actions throughout the concession area, but it focuses specifically on strategic places such as the Jorge Chávez Airport, where the Supreme Pontiff will pass by, as well as the Government Palace, the San Pedro Church and Lima’s main square, where some of his most important activities will be held”, explained Riccardo Lama, Head of Infrastructure and Networks at Enel Distribución Perú.

In addition, the company informed that these measures complement the monitoring carried out by its Low-, Medium- and High Voltage Control Centre, which works 24 hours for timely action in case of failures in the grid.

Enel Distribución Perú is a company that provides energy supply and public lighting to 1,4 million customers in the northern and central part of Lima Metropolitan Area, the northern provinces of the Lima Region and the Constitutional Province of Callao, thus contributing to the development and improvement of people’s quality of life.
