Enel Increases its Stake in Enel Distribución Perú

  • Enel Perú acquired a further 7.5% stake in Enel Distribución Perú
  • The transaction is worth 262,276,580.50 Peruvian Soles
  • After this transaction, group Enel holds 83.2% of Enel Distribución Perú

 

Lima, October 4th, 2017. In a transaction carried out today on the Lima Stock Exchange, Enel Perú SAC increased its stake in Enel Distribución Perú’s of an additional 7.5%, now reaching the group Enel a 83.2% of the overall share capital in the country’s distribution company.

Carlos Temboury, Country Manager of Enel Perú, said: “Through this transaction we increase our presence in Enel Distribución Perú which allow us to strength our operations in the country”.

It should be noted Enel Distribución Perú is the biggest electric distribution company of the country with 1.4 million clients. It serves 57 districts in Lima, Constitutional Province of Callao and Huaura, Huaral, Barranca and Oyón provinces.

In order to cope with the increasing electricity demand from the capital, the company has invested annually more than USD 120 million to extend and maintain its electric infrastructure in the last five years. Also, put on operation one transmission substations (TS) per year. Among new substations stand out those located in great urban and industrial growth areas, like Chillón, Zárate, UNI, Huarangal, Mirador, Huandoy, Comas, Malvinas y Filadelfia. Besides, Enel Distribución Perú is currently working on a LED public light pilot projects at La Punta and San Miguel districts.
