In the fifth season of this competition, Peruvian football player Teófilo “El Nene” Cubillas will choose the members of the team that will represent Peru.

Lima, 22 July 2014 – Schoolchildren with the more outstanding performance at the Enel Distribución Perú Cup 2014 will be part of the team selected by Teófilo Cubillas, one of the best South American football players of all time. They will participate in the four-team match that will be played in Spain between Peru, Chile, Colombia and the reserve of young players of Real Madrid.

After two months of competition, the Inca Garcilazo de la Vega School in Comas was the winner. Teófilo Cubillas, better known as the “El Nene”, introduced the 27 preselected children, who will be prepared for a month to work as a team. Finally, 10 will be called to represent Peru.

28 state schools and about 300 schoolchildren competed in May in the U-13 football championship, among the excitement of parents and school representatives that encouraged their teams in each match.

Spain Awaits

With the ambition of any good coach, Cubillas will arrive in Spain to present the Peruvian team that is up to the standard of its opponents. Difficult task? Probably yes, but, as Cubillas says, "In life, everything is possible with willingness and positive attitude. Peru did not make it to the World Cup but in this one, its team is promising”.
