Sustainable Technology to Renovate Street Lighting

Enel Distribución Perú has also included the replacement of distribution substation boards and plans to replace 6,000 boards out of the 8,400 installed in its entire concession area by 2019.

Lima, 18 September 2015 – Enel Distribución Perú is renovating its street lighting network by using, in large part, new technology—such as fiberglass—in line with its policy of innovation and environmental sustainability.

Fiberglass poles have a better lifespan performance and result in greater safety because, as they are lightweight, their installation is much easier in areas of difficult access, such as high hills. Thanks to this, new street lights will have less negative effects in case of car accidents.

For the period 2012-2017, 59 thousand power poles will have been replaced for maintenance or due to damages caused by third parties.

Within this comprehensive plan, Enel Distribución Perú not only enhances lighting through the renovation of street lighting, but also contributes to improving safety.
