Lima Supplied with Electric Energy for the Period 2022-2031

Electricity distribution companies were awarded 300 MW.

Lima, 31 December 2015 – The energy supply of Lima for the period 2022-2031 is guaranteed thanks to the recent bidding process conducted by Enel Distribución Perú and supervised by the Peruvian Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining. As a result, two electricity distribution companies were awarded 300 MW.

The output offered was 2,472 MW –8.2 times the required output of 300 MW–, which resulted in a high level of competition and good prices. Finally, 240 MW were awarded to Enel Distribución Perú and 60 MW to Luz del Sur.

Representatives of Enel Distribución Perú pointed out that thanks to this bidding process, started in March and recently concluded, long-term electricity supply is guaranteed and Lima's distribution companies will be able to meet the growing demand of their customers.
