Enel Distribución Perú, Energy Leader in Service Quality

Annual investments of over 300 million soles have made us become the electricity distribution company with the best service quality in Peru.

Lima, 13 September 2016 – Enel Distribución Perú leads the service quality ranking for the third consecutive year, according to the latest Annual Service Quality Statistics 2015 report prepared by the Peruvian Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin).

The study evaluates the performance of all the fourteen Peruvian electricity distribution companies and their indicators in order to determine service quality based on the average number of cuts and their duration.

In order to remain the best electricity distribution company in the country, Enel Distribución Perú will reduce cuts and pioneer the use of automation and remote control of medium voltage networks in Peru.

Great Investments

In 2015 alone, the company invested the historic figure of 478 million soles in network improvements, which represents a 13% increase over the investment in 2014.

Over the last twenty-two years, investments have exceeded 4 billion soles—an amount allocated to the expansion of infrastructure and networks and the incorporation of new technology.

Among the main investments is the construction of eight new transmission substations (TS):

  • Chillon
  • Zárate
  • UNI
  • Huarangal
  • Mirador
  • Huandoy
  • Malvinas
  • Comas

In addition, over the last ten years, 210 thousand homes in shantytowns have been supplied with electric power in order to meet the increase in demand and guarantee more reliable energy supplies.
