Enel Distribución Perú and Endesa Inaugurate New Lighting of Temple in Huaro, Cusco

There are more than 23 lighted monuments throughout Peru.

Huaro, October 10, 2014 – Enel Distribución Perú and Fundación Endesa, in order to promote the preservation of the historical and religious heritage and spread the tradition and cultural identity of our country, have implemented a new lightning system in the San Juan Bautista Temple in Huaro, Cusco.

The work was made possible thanks to state-of-the-art equipment with high consumption efficiency, designed by professionals specialising in light art projects.

The project will contribute to enhance the Cusco Baroque tour and other temples such as Compañía de Jesus in Cusco’s main square or San Pedro Apostol in Andahuaylillas.

Lima’s Tour Included

As a result, new night tours have been created to offer new dynamism to tourism. In the Peruvian capital, the main tour is located in the perimeter of colonial Lima, in which we can find:

  • The Government Palace
  • The Archbishop's Palace
  • The Cathedral Basilica of Lima
  • The old Desamparados train station
  • The Los Descalzos Convent
  • The Church of San Pedro
  • The Basilica of Santa Rosa
  • The Church of Las Nazarenas
  • The Church of San Francisco

In the case of Callao, the tour includes the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen de la Legua and the Cathedral of Callao.
