Lima, 4 January 2016 – Enel Green Power is investing around 180 million US dollars in the construction of this park.

Enel Green Power (EGP) has completed and connected to the grid the first 20 MW of the 97 MW Carrera Pinto solar park, located in the Chilean region of Atacama.

The solar plant is owned by Parque Solar Carrera Pinto S.A., a subsidiary of Enel Green Power Chile Ltda. The remaining 77 MW are expected to be completed and connected by the second semester 2016.

Once fully operational, the solar park will be able to produce more than 260 GWh a year¾equivalent to the annual consumption of about 122 thousand Chilean households¾while avoiding the emission of over 127 thousand tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The energy generated by the photovoltaic park will be delivered to Chile’s Central Region Transmission Network (SIC).

In Chile, EGP currently operates a portfolio of plants with a combined installed capacity of about 600 MW, of which 340 MW come from wind power, 154 MW from photovoltaic power and 92 from hydropower.
