Enel Distribución Perú Improves Energy Supply in the First Half of 2016

The EBITDA financial indicator shows favourable figures due to the increase in demand.

Lima, 21 July 2016 –Enel Distribución Perú’s board approved the company’s financial results for the first half of 2016. The company achieved an EBITDA of 373 million soles, a 16.4% increase over the similar period in 2015, mainly because of the increasing energy sales caused by the growing demand.

Enel Distribución Perú has successfully developed a cost optimization programme in its operations, and it has achieved significant savings by improving service quality.

Thanks to improved operating results, the company's net outcomes amounted to 184 million soles, that is, an increase of 37 million soles (+ 24.9%) over the result obtained in the first half of 2015.

Improved Service

Carlos Temboury, Enel Peru Country Manager, stated that these results show that Enel Distribución Perú is going hand in hand with the growth of Peruvian economy, especially in Northern Lima.

“The company's operating results have improved compared with last year's levels. Besides, a major infrastructure investment plan was made to improve service quality”, said Temboury.

This is reflected in projects such as the expansion and strengthening of distribution networks, the increase of substations’ capacity, the improvement of service quality, and the electrification of shantytowns.
