We know that energy is like a motor that drives the everyone’s performance day-to-day, that is why we seek to provide safe, efficient and quality energy. Thanks to the different campaigns Enel Distribución Perú has performed for the access to energy, we are making the Sustainable Development Goal 7 a reality.
More Light for Sports’ Campaign
Since 2005, more than 130,000 people in shantytowns within our concession area benefit from 109 well-lit concrete pitches. Through this programme, we created shared value by providing public places with good lighting so people can perform artistic, cultural, sport, recreational activities, among others.
In 12 years, the project was able to articulate a sustainable management through the empowerment of grassroots organisations, which are the managers responsible for the concrete pitches before the local authority and the company.
Sale of energy-efficient appliances
In 2015, Enel Distribución Perú extended its variety of products through Carsa in the sale of electrical appliances. In 2017, more than 88,000 electrical appliances were sold, which amounted to PEN 16 million, increasing by 17% compared to the previous year.
Electric Power for Shantytowns
One of our most important goals is to improve the quality of life of the poorest families in our concession area. Thanks to the programme of massive electrical installations, we conducted works as well as urban improvements in 128 shantytowns, resulting in 10,320 plots that now receive power supply, mainly in the districts of Carabayllo, Puente Piedra, San Juan de Lurigancho, San Antonio, Santa Rosa, Ventanilla and Northern Lima.
Street Lighting
An important part of our mission is to provide all citizens with street lighting, thereby contributing to well-being and safety. Therefore, with the aim of providing more efficient public lighting, we replaced around 21,885 out-of-service lamps in 2017.
Furthermore, thanks to the alliance with the Municipality of La Punta, we conducted the second stage of street lighting improvement which consisted in replacing conventional sodium vapour lamps with LED lamps. This district is the first in our concession area to have LED street lighting.
