We go beyond social responsibility precepts and environmental regulations by continuously seeking to achieve environmental and social sustainability. We accomplished this by applying innovative processes ―based on Enel Group’s Creating Shared Value Model― in the development and construction of the two renewable energy power plants of its Peruvian subsidiary: Wayra I and Rubí .
This system allowed us to measure the energy performance of power plants and establish continuous improvement plans to optimise the use of available resources, thereby contributing to reduce greenhouse gases emissions, energy costs and other related environmental impacts.
By using the above-mentioned tools, we carry out programmes on energy access, economic growth opportunities and local employment, besides applying operational solutions in matters of consumption efficiency and fossil fuel, and performing an analysis on the lifetime of all the things related to the construction of Wayra I and Rubí power plants.
The main activities performed as part of the Energy Management System are:
- System performance analysis by SOPI department, which promotes the implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Implementation of operational controls to maintain the energy performance of power plants within expected parameters.
- Incorporation of energy performance criteria when acquiring new products and hiring services.
