Enel Generación Perú’s Health and Safety Management System is a tool that allows us to comply with the commitments of the organisation’s Integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policy. This management system is certified under the specifications contained in the OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard.
Enel Generación Perú identifies possible hazards, evaluates labour risks that may arise from its operations and takes actions to reduce and mitigate their effects in compliance with current Peruvian laws and international standards. Additionally, Enel Generación Perú guarantees a safe environment for all the personnel involved in its activities, while caring about our stakeholders’ needs.
The Joint Committee, the Internal Regulation on Safety and Health, the Occupational Safety and Health Programme, the Risk and Hazards Matrix, procedures, plans, safety instructions, among others, define the System’s application method in all its processes and have influence in the compliance of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
We count on a comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health Management for our own personnel, which includes monitoring of contractors’ management and operational works through planning meetings, documentary review, training, registration and assessment of supervisors’ performance, inspections to operational areas, inspections to equipment and tools, regulatory compliance, among others.
As for prevention, we perform occupational medical evaluations, preventive health campaigns and exams, studies and monitoring of occupational risks (such as electrical hazards, noise, non-ionizing radiation, lighting hazards, etc); in addition, we conduct have implemented mitigation management, drills, emergency teams, a signage system, among others. All of this is included in a cycle of continuous improvement to obtain the best possible performance in favour of all the personnel and operations of Enel Generación Perú.
