Enel will return contributions destined for the construction of Peru Southern Gas Pipeline in January

Lima, December 29, 2017. – Enel Distribución Perú announced it will return PEN 66 361 407 to a total of 1,341,313 users of the energy supply service in January 2018, after receiving the confirmation of the regulatory body Osinergmin. At the time, such amount was collected by order of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM, by its initials in Spanish) as contributions for the construction of Peru’s Southern Gas Pipeline (GSP, by its initials in Spanish); however, the project will not be carried out.

The refund will be made through the energy bill of January, according to the amount specified by Osinergmin for each case. If such amount cannot be applied in only one bill, the difference will be deducted in the following ones consecutively”, said Carlos Solís, Head of Market at Enel Distribución Perú.

The general period for the refund of the Charges for the Strengthening of Energy Security (CASE, by its initials in Spanish) is from May 2015 to January 2017.
