Lima, 25 October 2016 – Enel Peru’s Country Manager Carlos Temboury stated that the business model and subsidiaries names are to change as a result of the implementation of the new so-called Open Power strategy.

The General Meetings of the Enel Group’s companies in Peru approved the change of name of Edelnor, Edegel and Eepsa. As a result, Edelnor becomes Enel Distribución Perú, Edegel becomes Enel Generación Perú, and Eeepsa becomes Enel Generación Piura.

“With this new strategy called Open Power, Enel aims to provide energy to more people, develop new technologies, create new ways to manage energy, give energy new applications and build new strategic alliances”, said Carlos Temboury, Country Manager of Enel Peru.

Through Enel Distribución Perú, the Enel Group provides electricity to almost 1.4 million customers in Lima—equivalent to 20% of the market share. For three years now (2013, 2014 and 2015), Peruvian’s energy regulatory body, Osinergmin, has considered Enel Peru the distribution company with the best service quality standards in Peru.

Through Enel Generación Perú and Enel Generación Piura, Enel Peru operates an installed capacity of more than 1,940 MW (1,162 MW from thermal power and 779 MW from hydropower). In February, Enel Green Power Perú, the local renewable energy subsidiary, was awarded three new projects of 326 MW from wind, solar and hydroelectric power.
