Jorge Chávez, considered the best airport in South America in 2015, will have an output of up to 11 MW.

Lima, 5 January 2016 – As of 1 January 2016, and for a period of six years, Enel Distribución Perú will supply with electric power the Jorge Chávez International Airport. The company was awarded a contract in the private bidding process managed by Lima Airport Partners (LAP).

The electricity company will provide energy with a power output of 8 MW that is expected to reach 11 MW by 2021. Currently, the annual consumption of the airport is 37 GWh.

With this award, LAP renews its commercial relationship with Enel Distribución Perú so that the latter can continue supplying with electric power Peru’s main airport.

“This shows the strong confidence that Peru’s most important companies have in Enel Distribución Perú as both an energetic and strategic partner”, said representatives of the Italian electricity company.

With LAP, Enel Distribución Perú has now 59 free customers in its portfolio. In 2015, sales to these customers represented 10% of the total energy supplied by the distribution company.
