Lima, 11 October 2015 – For the third consecutive year, Curibamba Pampa de Oro’s coffee is exhibited at Stand 71 of the Gran Mercado (Big Market) in the Mistura food festival.

For the third consecutive year, Curibamba Pampa de Oro’s coffee, produced by growers from the valley of the Uchubamba and Comas Rivers—from which the Tulumayo River in Junín springs—is exhibited at Stand 71 of the Gran Mercado in the Mistura food festival.

Curibamba Pampa de Oro’s coffee is part of Enel Generación Perú’s main social inclusion programmes. They have been developing initiatives since 2010 in order to improve coffee production in communities neighbouring the company’s premises, thereby strengthening their economy and creating shared value.

Joint Efforts

After the implementation of a communal coffee nursery and the promotion of internships at coffee production companies from Chanchamayo and Oxapampa, the product has become an alternative for the economic, social and sustainable development of 160 families involved in the coffee business and the programme; their life quality will improve and their children will have a brighter future.

“Although land and weather are ideal to produce high-quality coffee, farmers received only basic technical support or none. Thanks to the programme, neighbouring communities see Enel Generación Perú as their strategic partner for local economic development”, stated Rosario Arrisueño, Enel Peru’s Head of Sustainability.
