José grew up in Chosica. That means he lived his childhood running around streets guarded by the colossal structures of the hydroelectric power plants of Huampaní and Moyopampa. “They were gigantic!”, he recalls. To get in and know them from the inside was a great experience for him. Back then, he had no clue he would end up working for the company which, thanks to these power plants and other fantastic ones, provides more than one million three hundred thousand Peruvians with electricity.
Today, as an electrical technician and supervisor of the works area at Enel, he makes sure that each of our contractors performs their tasks correctly, complying with safety regulations and work procedures, and respecting the environment.
Thanks to his work, the neighbours know that they can trust us and that, during the time the work lasts, we will be attentive and at their service. Before any failure, José has the power to stop the work to carry out the corresponding corrective procedures. “It is important to comply with security standards, because the company has established them”.
As he knows every improvement generates discomfort, he helps the neighbourhood understand it whenever it is necessary. And the results are positive, since the networks are extended in order to provide our customers with the power supply they deserve.
Married and with three children, José has turned 38 years old with us, having worked in the past at the areas of projects and maintenance. María Torres Ortega, his wife, was also part of our team. Their love was born here. We could say that their love is pure electrical energy.
