The Integrated Management System (IMS) is essential to fulfil the commitments of the Sustainable Development Policy of Enel Generación Perú (formerly Edegel). This certified system conforms to the requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management standard, the ISO 14001 environmental management standard, the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management standard and the ISO 50001 energy management standard.
The maintenance of these continuously implemented and improved systems is verified on an annual basis by external auditors.
STATUS OF THE IMS CERTIFICATION
The company submits, on an annual basis and in full responsibility, to audits that monitor compliance with regulations as part of the permanent follow-up of certifications.
Follow-up audits on the quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety systems are carried out in January and October. Internal audits on the environmental management and occupational health and safety systems are conducted in December.
In 2012, several activities that had begun in 2011 were completed, allowing us to improve the performance of our management systems. For example, with documents concerning the operation and maintenance standards of the Ventanilla Thermal Plant and the implementation of its Quality Management System, we were able to include the plant in the ISO 9001:2008 certification, in force since March 2012.
Ever since, the nine hydroelectric and thermal plants operated by Enel Generación Perú (formerly Edegel) are within the scope of the Integrated Management System (Quality-ISO 9001, Environment-ISO 14001, Safety and Occupational Health-OHSAS 18001).
In addition, in September 2014, after completing the design and implementation of the Energy Management System of the Ventanilla Thermal Plant based on ISO 50001, we gained the corresponding certification, thus becoming the first of its kind in Peru.
