Enel will showcase Formula E car in Perumin

  • The FIA Formula E Gen 2, a top of the line vehicle, arrives for the first time in Peru.
  • Enel will also showcase its electric mobility and renewable energy solutions during the mining convention, which will be held in Arequipa.

 

Lima, September 12th, 2019. – Within the framework of the PERUMIN 34th Mining Convention to be held from September 16 to 20, Enel Peru will exhibit, for the first time in our country, a car from the ABB FIA Formula E, the most competitive electric-motor racing category in the world.

This is the Spark SRT05e, a single-seater used since the 2018-19 season and known as the FIA Formula E Gen 2. This vehicle weighs 900 kg with the pilot included, has a length of 5,160 mm long by 1,770 mm wide, and a maximum power 250 kW, equivalent to 335 bhp. It is also able to reach a maximum speed of 280 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship takes place in the center of some the most iconic cities in the world, such as New York, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Seoul, London, Hong Kong, Santiago, and Mexico City, among others. This racing division brings the main automotive brands together, including Audi, BMW, Nissan, Porsche, and others.

Enel has allowed the ABB FIA Formula E to be increasingly environment-friendly by directly managing the electrical network of each circuit. The company is also responsible for installing the energy infrastructure used to recharge the electric cars and fuel the exhibition areas, paddocks, and boxes. Enel also manages a Control Room that monitors the energy flow and consumption in real-time and shares the information with the racing teams.

“Our goal is to show the sustainable transport alternatives that are used worldwide. In Peru, we have been working on several projects of this type, such as our alliance with BYD and Direct Taxi to put into circulation two electric taxis in Lima, which will gather information for six months with a view to implementing a larger fleet”, said José Manuel Revuelta, Country Manager of Enel Peru. "Additionally, in the coming weeks we will implement an electric bus for public transport that fulfills the same purpose, along the route of the Corredor Rojo (Javier Prado - Faucett)", he added.

Enel in PERUMIN

The Country Manager of Enel Peru will present an assortment of renewable energy solutions for the mining sector during PERUMIN 34. The appointment is set for Wednesday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sum 1 Hall, under the title of “Understanding the global environment of renewable energy and its opportunities for the mining industry”. The executive will also reveal the new projects in which the company is embarked.
