Lima, July 26th, 2019. – The electrical company Enel Distribución Perú reported that it has been carrying out actions to strengthen the electrical service throughout the development of activities for the National Holidays and the inauguration of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games. The plan consists in the inspection of strategic areas, the increase of emergency crews and the monitoring of the power grid from the Control Center 24 hours a day.

“We have been inspecting the positive status of the electricity networks that supply energy to strategic locations such as the Governmental Palace, the Brasil Avenue where the Great Military Parade is held, the Jorge Chavez Airport where hundreds of athletes keep arriving, and some Olympic venues that are located within our concession zone”, explained the engineer Leonel Atoche, Head of Operations of Enel’s Electrical Networks.

The plan also incorporates measures to address any unforeseen failures in its low, medium and high voltage networks. Emergency crews settled in strategic locations of the city will be made available.

“These actions complement the work we do from the Control Center, which uses state-of-the-art technology to permanently monitor the networks. This allows us to act in a timely manner in the event of system failures and thus quickly address such cases under strict safety measures”, said the company representative.

Enel Distribución Perú is a power company of the Enel Group, an Italian company with presence in over 34 countries. It has 1.4 million clients in Northern Lima, Central Lima and the Near North Coast of Lima.
