Enel will upgrade its facilities to benefit 225 thousand clients in San Juan de Lurigancho

  • The company will invest 10 million soles to improve the quality of service and to satisfy the growing power demand in the most populated district of Lima.

 

Lima, May 7th of 2019. - Enel Distribución Perú is currently running a project to upgrade the facilities of the Mirador Electrical Transmission Substation (SET, by its initials in Spanish), with the aim to improve the quality of service for 225 thousand clients in San Juand de Lurigancho and its sorroundings. This project signifies an investment of about 10 millon soles, which will also allow for improved reliability in the power supply system for Line 1 of the Lima Metro.

The project consists in the implementation of a new Tranformer Bench of 220/60kV and 180MVA with interconnected High and Low Voltage cells. Civil and electromagnetic works will be required to increase the output of the substation, which is located in the province of Huarochiri, within the limits of San Juan de Lurigancho, the most populated district of the capital. Works are expected to conclude in May of 2019.
