More than a hundred young musicians celebrated their progress together with the tenor and the CEO of Enel Distribución Perú.
Lima, 11 March 2013 – Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez visited the “Núcleo Enel Distribución Perú" Children Symphony Orchestra. Young musicians showed their talent in playing hymns such as Sinfonía por el Perú and Himno a la Alegría. The brief performance was attended by the tenor who warmly greeted one by one the young musicians and their parents.
This group, made up of 104 children of limited resources but great talent, has grown into an orchestra within the project Sinfonía por el Peru directed by the Peruvian tenor.
A Strong Young Project
After only eight months of training, they have now their own choir, wind and rope sections and an important record of presentations. They were part of the Nutcracker choir at the Municipal Theater; they enlivened with music the lighting of the Christmas tree in Lima’s main square, attended by the President; they ended year 2012 with a large public concert at the Virgen del Pilar Church in San Isidro.
This social project is aimed at children from 7 to 14; they are supported by Enel Distribución Perú and Enel Cuore. The tenor reported that Sinfonía por el Peru has thirteen nuclei and this year is expected to reach fifteen with the help of public and private companies.
