Lima, 24 February 2016 – Enel aims to work with the local government to avoid eventual serious damages as those suffered by the province due to El Niño event in 1983 and 1997-1998.

Enel Generación Piura installed a First-Aid Post (FAP) in the Jesús María shantytown, of which the Municipality of Talara will be in charge. Its purpose is to provide support in case of natural disasters and be ready to face the consequences of El Niño event.

Prepared for Emergencies

As Talara was greatly affected by El Niño in 1983 and 1997-1998, the company aims to work together with the local government to install this First-Aid Post in a strategic place in case of heavy rain.

Enel Generación Piura not only has supplied the FAP with furniture, first-aid kits and water bottles, but also has contributed the training of leaders and people of the community of Piedritas and Cono Norte, so that they can act promptly in case of emergency. As part of its social responsibility activities, Enel Piura helps Talara through actions that benefit the community.
