600 Students from Rural Communities in Junín Benefited from Donations

Lima, 5 May 2014 – Students were given school supplies and means from Enel Generación Perú.

Twelve schools of seven communities, located in the districts of Monobamba, Vitoc, Mariscal Castilla and San Ramón, received more than 2,700 breakfast products¾milk, biscuits, seven-seed flour, sugar, tuna and anchovy¾from Enel Generación Perú.

Students were also given a mug. Donations were distributed at schools and Non-Formal Early Education Programmes (PRONOEI) in Ocoroyo, Unión Condorbamba, Marancocha, Yanayacu, La Florencia, San José de Utcuyacu and Las Orquídeas, all in Junín.

Thanks to the campaign, 138 students from different communities will have wholesome meals every day. Products were given to parents who committed to cook them so that their children can have them at school. Breakfast products are delivered every month.

In addition, Enel Generación Perú donated around 600 school supply kits to preschool and primary students for the beginning of the school year. Each kit had two pencils, one ruler, one rubber, two notebooks, one coloured pencil set, one pencil box, one T-shirt and one cap. The beneficiaries were schools in Yanayacu, La Florencia, Las Orquídeas, Los Ángeles, San José de Utcuyacu, San José de Villano, Marancocha, Unión Condorbamba and Uchubamba.

Likewise, schoolchildren from the communities of Yanango, Paltay, Ayna, Chacaybamba, Chuquisunga, Cedruyoi, Viscatán, Pucará, Utcuyacu, Pacaybamba, Don Bosco, Shincayacu, Chincana, Challhuapuquio and San Emilio, were given a kit consisting of two pencils, one ruler, one rubber, two notebooks, one pencil box and one T-shirt.
