Enel participated in the 8th Expo Energy Peru 2018

  • Event gathered the main players in the electricity sector to discuss the need for renewable generation in the coming years.

 

The Peruvian Government's energy policy, regulatory framework in electricity, electrical distribution and its new role were some of the issues discussed in the eighth edition of Expo Energy Peru 2018 held at the Hotel Los Delfines.

Our Regulatory Affairs Manager of Enel Generacion Peru, Luis Flores, was one of the speakers at the important event. He participated in the panel: Regulatory framework in electricity.

"It is necessary to lift the regulatory barriers of access of the RER (renewable energy resources) to the free and regulated markets with the recognition of the Firm Power of the wind and solar RERs, with the purpose that they can compete in equal conditions with the technologies conventional in energy auctions "assured Flores.

In that sense, Flores emphasized that the RER generation will allow for a diversified and sustainable generation matrix, helping to strengthen energy security and achieve the objectives assumed by Peru at COP 21.

On the other hand, the Infrastructure and Networks Manager of Enel Distribucion Peru, Riccardo Lama, participated in the panel: Regulation in the Electrical Distribution and its new role. He shared the perspective of the company on the new roles that distributors must assume in order to shape a Smart Grid or smart grid in our country, with a view to satisfying the demands of users and managing the electrical system in an integrated manner.

"It is possible to develop a Smart Grid based on the current infrastructure. However, the new demands and regulation should favor this change, "said Lama.
