It is a thermal power station located in the Province of Talara (Piura), 30 metres above sea level. It was created in July 2013 with an initial investment of 106.4 million US dollars. It has three natural gas turbines (TG1, TG2 and TG3, operating in simple cycle) prepared to work on natural gas or Diesel B2 and an ABB simple cycle TG4 gas turbine.
In 2017, Enel Generación Piura will invest 55 million US dollars to repower and make plant operations more efficient by replacing three old turbines with a more modern and efficient one. The project is called TG6. Siemens Industrial was awarded the supply of a state-of-the-art gas turbine with a capacity of 51.8 MW.
