He is founding partner of Andino Asset Management (2011), CAPIA SAFI (2014) and CAPIA Servicios Financieros (2013), all of which are companies specialised in asset management and merger and acquisition, both in Peru and abroad.
He currently advises or manages investments in stocks worth more than US$ 140 million of companies listed in Peru. He was Chief Investment Officer and Director of Compass Group SAFI between 2006 and 2011, where he managed global fixed-income and equity funds for institutional investors, with assets amounting to more than US$ 250 million. He designed and managed the first Peruvian hedge fund, Peru Special Investments Fund (PSIF), which had assets worth US$ 135 million and in 2007 and 2010 was ranked by Bloomberg among the best performing firms in the hedge fund industry.
For a short time, he was CIO and Portfolio Manager at Compass Colombia, where he managed two Colombian equity funds for institutional investors. Previously, he was Investment Assistant Manager at Rímac Seguros, where he managed investments in stocks, bonds, hedge funds, private equity and engaged in M & A operations. In addition, he was Andean Sales Trader for Deutsche Bank, where he was in charge of the portfolio for Peru, Colombia, Chile and Venezuela.
He studied Business Administration at Universidad del Pacífico and attended specialised courses at Harvard University and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. He was director of Pesquera Exalmar between 2013 and 2016 and he has been Peruvian Chapter Director of the Hedge Fund Association (HFA) since 2012. In 2016, his company Andino was recognised by ALAS20 as Leading Institution in Sustainability Research. He is a columnist for Gestión’s Revista G magazine since 2012, as well as a capital market promoter and an activist in corporate governance improvements of listed companies.
